THE JOURNEY OF THE PATIENT

Work Overview:

I led an end-to-end Design Thinking process — from discovery workshops to high-fidelity prototypes — guiding a design team to develop innovative solutions for DASA in a competitive project that included major tech players.

Instead of following the traditional process, we decided to go further: together with the DASA team, we created a dedicated “house” within the company, embedding ourselves in their daily environment. This immersion allowed us to uncover real, everyday challenges and identify opportunities that were invisible from the outside.

By living the user experience firsthand, we generated insights that shaped more authentic, impactful solutions — helping the company not just at a product level, but strategically across the entire organization.

Objectives:

  1. Help the DASA team with the ultimate patient journey and discover how Google could help with this journey
  2. Build prototypes that could help visualize this journey. From the beginning of a problem to the solution and post-treatment
  3. Help the company as a whole. The solutions could also help different areas and stakeholders.

The project was a major success — our UX team played a key role in securing one of Google’s largest accounts in Latin America, setting a new benchmark for the company’s regional operations. It became the biggest healthcare initiative ever executed for LATAM, demonstrating the strategic impact of design at scale.
